SASHA SICURELLA - IFEOMA U. ANYAEJI - LORI BURNETT - JOEY MOSCOVITCH
Une collaboration entre quatre artistes qui explorent l'interconnexion de l'art, de l'identité et de l'humanitarisme grâce à l'expression créative. L'exposition met en vedette la photographie, la sculpture, le mot écrit, le graphisme et la vidéo. Le projet rassemble trois succès non lucratifs : Dans La Rue, I AM : International Foundation et le JHA Fund (Madagascar) contribuent chacun à des causes humanitaires et ont un impact social et économique important en Asie, en Afrique, en Europe, en Amérique du Nord et en Amérique du Sud.
A collaboration between four artists which explores the interconnectedness of art, identity, and humanitarianism through creative expression. The exhibition will feature photography, sculpture, written word, graphic design and video. The project brings together three successful non profits : Dans La Rue, I AM: International Foundation, and JHA Fund (Madagascar) each contributing to humanitarian causes and having significant social and economic impact in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America.
L’exposition présente des œuvres d'art créées par les participants de Dans La Rue lors d'ateliers dirigés par Sasha Sicurella, Ifeoma U. Anyaeji et Joey Moscovitch sous la supervision de Monica Mandujano, coordinatrice du programme d'art Dans La Rue. Les travaux écrits de jeunes adultes malgaches complètent l'expérience du projet.
Lori Burnett, directrice de la galerie, décrit le projet LEVÉ : LEVÉE comme la collaboration la plus intéressante et la plus importante de la galerie à ce jour :
« L'opportunité de travailler avec Sasha, Joey et Ifeoma pour faire vivre ce projet a été une expérience très excitante et enrichissante. La fusion des arts visuels avec des causes humanitaires a été, dès ses débuts, une partie essentielle de la mission de la galerie. Pour le rassembler dans une expérience de galerie dynamique et intime, cela aidera à bâtir l'empathie pour les communautés marginalisées, à sensibiliser et à susciter une plus grande appréciation des art. »
Une partie des recettes de la vente des œuvres sera distribué parmi les organisations participantes.
The exhibition includes artwork created by Dans La Rue participants dur-ing workshops led by Sasha Sicurella, Ifeoma U. Anyaeji and Joey Moscovitch under the supervision of Dans La Rue Art Program Coordinator Monica Mandujano. Written works by young Malagasy adults will complete the project experience.
Lori Burnett, director of the gallery describes the UP: RISE project as the gallery’s most exciting and important collaboration to date:
‘’The opportunity to work with Sasha, Joey and Ifeoma to bring this project to life has been a most exciting and rewarding experience. Merging the visual arts with humanitarian causes has, from its inception, been a vital part of the gallery’s mission. To bring it all together within a vibrant yet intimate gallery experience will help build empathy for marginalized communities, raise awareness, and lead to a greater appreciation of the arts.’’
A portion of the proceeds of all artwork sold will be distributed amongst the participating organizations.
