L'exposition d'Adad Hannah découle d'une occasion unique de travailler avec la communauté sénégalaise de Saint-Louis - destination de la frégate Méduse qui a fait naufrage en 1816. Cette tragédie est devenue un élément important de l'histoire de l'art depuis sa représentation par Théodore Géricault en 1819 jusqu'à nos jours. Cette collaboration au Sénégal d'Hannah lors du 200e anniversaire des événements sinistres renouvelle l'interprétation qu'il en avait faite en 2009 lorsqu'il avait travaillé avec la communauté de 100 Mile House en Colombie-Britannique.
Adad Hannah's exhibition is the result of a unique opportunity to work with the local community in Saint-Louis, Senegal - the destination of the doomed vessel the Medusa. The Raft of the Medusa emerged as an important element in Art History through the painting of Theodore Gericault in 1819, up to present day. This is Hannah's follow-up to the community-based project The Raft of the Medusa (100 Mile House) in British Columbia from 2009, and delves deeper into the direct history of the Raft on the occasion of its bicentenary anniversary.

Tabula rasa de Jérôme Fortin est une édition de 28 œuvres uniques réalisées à partir de lithographies découpées et assemblées. L'artiste renouvelle son langage plastique en mettant de l’avant les diagonales et en valorisant l’estampe plutôt que l’objet du quotidien. Ici, ce sont ses propres œuvres lors qu’il transforme, qu’il recycle, qu’il réinvente et transforme.
Jérome Fortin's Tabula rasa is a collection of 28 unique works created from an assemblage of lithographic fragments. It forges new paths since the artist finished a 3 year programme of print-making at Concordia while retaining the fundamental elements of his artistic vision: repetition, paper work, recycling and variations on a theme.

C'est la première fois que le corpus Le Radeau de la Méduse (Saint-Louis) est présenté en Amérique du Nord. Il a été dévoilé au programme off de la Biennale de Dakar à Saint-Louis et au Lagos Photo Festival plus tôt cette année. Adad Hannah a été trois fois semi-finaliste pour le prix Sobey et a exposé partout dans le monde. Ses oeuvres se retrouvent dans les collections publiques du Musée des beaux-arts du Canada, de la Art Gallery of Ontario, du Leeum Samsung Museum of Art à Séoul et au San Antonio Museum of Art, entre autres. Ses dernières oeuvres en collaboration avec Denys Arcand, Les Bourgeois de Vancouver, sont exposées présentement à la CIBC Canadian Film Gallery of the TIFF Bell Lightbox après une tournée à Paris, Montréal et à Richmond (Virginie).
The work is being presented for the first time in North America after having been shown at the Dakar Biennale off-site programming and at the Lagos Photo Festival earlier this year. Adad Hannah was nominated three times for the Sobey Art Award and has exhibited extensively. His works can be found in many public collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Leeum Samsung Museum of Art in Seoul and the San Antonio Museum of Art. His latest collaborative work with Denys Arcand, The Burghers of Vancouver, is currently on view at the CIBC Canadian Film Gallery of the TIFF Bell Lightbox after touring in Paris, Montreal and Richmond (Virginia).

Depuis 1996, il a présenté plus d’une douzaine d’expositions personnelles à Prague, Pretoria, Tokyo, Paris, Toronto et Montréal. Il a participé à de nombreuses expositions collectives à Istanbul, Berlin, Bologne, Bruxelles, Paris, Cuba, Barcelone, Beijing et New York. Plusieurs résidences d’artiste sont à son parcours, notamment au World Financial Center Arts and Events (New York), Fondation Christoph-Merian (Bâle), Fonca (Mexico D.F.), la Cité internationale des arts (Paris), Ludwig Foundation de Cuba (La Havane), Tokyo Wonder Site (Tokyo). En 2007, les travaux de Fortin ont fait l’objet d’une exposition personnelle au Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MACM). Il a reçu en 2004 le Prix Pierre-Ayot de la Ville de Montréal. Ses œuvres figurent dans plusieurs collections, dont celles du Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, Musée de Joliette, Pretoria art museum, National Museum of China, Bibliothèque et archives nationales du Québec, Banque d’oeuvres d’art du Conseil des arts du Canada, Ville de Montréal, d’entreprises et particulières.
It explores the play between disruption and continuity for which he is known for and exemplified in his 2007 solo exhibition at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal. Recipient of the Pierre Ayot prize given by the City of Montréal in 2004, Fortin has had more than a dozen solo exhibitions including shows in Prague, Pretoria, Tokyo, Paris, Toronto and Montreal. His work has been presented in group exhibitions in Istanbul, Berlin, Bologna, Brussels, Paris, Cuba, Barcelona, Beijing and New York and can be found in many several public collections including the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Quebec, the Musée de Joliette, the Pretoria Art Museum and the National Museum of China.
