Espacio México : 2055 Peel
December 17, 2007 - First morning in Mexico:
We are on the golden path
We will provoke our own initiation
We will transform our own destination
We will become our own light
We will not hesitate at any crossroad
We will choose the new over the known
Spirituality is our daily exchange with the universe. Reality is the distance between two visions. The desert takes me: Dust covers my skin. Dust covers my soul. Dust covers my memory. We sleep at the gates of the desert: LA FRONTERA DE LA CONCIENCIA.
After 2 years in Mexico, Dalceggio moved back his studio to New York City for the third time, but the influence of Mexico is surviving in his art, stronger than ever. He always returns to Mexico, his promised land, where he discovered life, magic and colors in his first long journey at the age of 20.
Often will you walk in his studio, where you can hear La llorona, and admire some yarn Huichol paintings, while copal is burning.
Dalceggio nourishes the dream to someday build his own studio somewhere in Mexico, in the jungle or on the Pacific coast. Mexican archetypes are deeply rooted in Dalceggio s work, and resurface at any moment.
In 2008, Dalceggio made a road trip of 6 months in a studio on wheels all over Mexico, where he did many murals offered to the community, in villages, as he was going, painting with the children, musicians, and other seekers; from the north of Mexico to Chiapas, passing through Desierto de Sonora- Amatlàn - la puerta, Oaxaca, Xilitla - las posas, Tepotzlan, Real del catorce; producing many canvas outside, on magical locations, from Plaza Garibaldi in Mexico City to the beach of Zipolite.
In 2009-2010, these visions were mostly channeled in his studio dead shaman dream temple in Mexico city, and in several different sacred places of Mexico, like Wirikuta desert, in San Luis Potosí. “It is the first time of my art life that I really dive as deep into a culture and I let her transform me, that I do not transform all I see automatically but I let the elements around resurface on the canvas with power and delicacy. Many road trips to the sacred desert have totally altered my vision of life and make me penetrate into a different level of consciousness.”
3 new pieces are presented, these ones made in April in Paris, showing the influence of Mexican art, here mostly Huichol and from Oaxaca.
