Les œuvres rassemblées dans Penser en rond abordent tout particulièrement le cercle et le tout circulaire comme concept et forme principale. Penser en rond tourne autour de connotations traditionnelles de temps, d’unité et d’univers mais également autour de loufoques anneaux spirituels et significations périphériques. Les œuvres de l’exposition orbitent de l’horizon au nombril. Un texte par Kyle Beal accompagnera l’exposition.

The work assembled in Out Thinking in Circles, in Circles Thinking Out deals uniquely and specifically with the circle or circular as the dominant formal or conceptual element. Turning around traditional connotations such as time, unity or the universe, to loopy spiritual rings and meanings found at the periphery, the works in the exhibition orbit a space from the horizon to the belly button. A text by Kyle Beal accompanies the exhibition.

Amélie Guérin est titulaire d’une Maîtrise en beaux-art de l’Université Concordia (2009) au sein de laquelle elle a prit part à un programme d’échange avec la Glasgow School of Art. Munie d’humour, d’objets trouvés, d’image trouvés et parfois de textes trouvés et sélectionnés intuitivement, Guérin utilise ces matériaux pour saisir et transformer l’ordinaire en quelque chose de créatif, trompeur ou tout simplement génial.

Amélie Guérin earned an MFA from Concordia University in 2009 where she participated in an exchange program with the Glasgow School of Art. Rife with humor, found objects, found images and sometimes found texts are chosen intuitively and are used to capture and transform the ordinary into something creative, deceptive or simply awesome.

Robert Hengeveld est un artiste multimédia dont l’œuvre explore les limites de la réalité et de la fiction et notre place entre les deux. Il vit et travaille actuellement à Toronto. Il a obtenu en 2005 sa maîtrise en beaux-arts de l’Université de Victoria.

Robert Hengeveld is a multi-media artist whose work explores the boundaries between reality and fiction, and our place within that relationship. He is currently living and working in Toronto, Canada. He completed his MFA at the University of Victoria in 2005.

Kris Lindskoog est un artiste multimédia qui vit et travaille à Calgary en Alberta. Sa pratique à plusieurs facettes comprend dessins, sculptures, installation et photographie. Lindskoog est diplômé de l’Alberta College of Art and Design (2001), son œuvre fut exposée au Canada et à l’international.

Kris Lindskoog is a mixed media artist who lives and works in Calgary, Alberta. His practice is multifaceted and has included drawing, sculpture; installation and photography Lindskoog graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2001 and has shown regionally, nationally and internationally.

Shawna McLeod est titulaire d’une maîtrise de beaux-arts de l’Université Concordia (2008). Ella a participé à une résidence à l’Apex Art Center de New York en 2009 et est actuellement artiste résidente à la Flux Factory de New York. Son œuvre se retrouve dans des collections d’art publiques partout au Canada. La pratique de McLeod tourne autour d’un sentimentalisme des objets qu’elle reproduit en peinture tout en leur insufflant un caractère saugrenu.

Shawna McLeod completed her MFA at Concordia University in Montreal in 2008. She held a residency at the Apex Art Center in New York City in 2009, and is currently an artist-in-residence at the Flux Factory in New York City. Her work can be found in public collections throughout Canada. McLeod's practice revolves around sentimentality toward objects, which she replicates in paint while injecting them with whimsical qualities.

David Prince est à la fois sculpteur, explorateur, bûcheron, scientifique amateur, militant en faveur des arts et inventeur. Il crée des œuvres en faisant usage d’une variété de matériaux et médias. Prince détient une maitrise en beaux-arts (Sculpture) de la School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2006). Il vit et travaille actuellement à Los Angeles en Californie. Il est nomade à temps-partiel ; nomadisme durant lequel il travaille et vit dans un « minivan » qui lui sert de studio.

David Prince is a sculptor, explorer, lumberjack, amateur scientist, community arts advocate, and inventor, creating artworks in a wide variety of materials and media. He received an MFA in sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2006. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA and is a part-time nomad, living and working from his minivan studio.

Lucy Pullen adopte une approche à plusieurs facettes, son œuvre est marquée de traits d’esprit de curiosité et d’audace technique. Elle est titulaire d’une maîtrise en beaux-arts de Temple University (2001). Elle est actuellement candidate au doctorat en media et communication à l’European Graduate School en Suisse et enseigne à l’Université de Victoria en Colombie-Britannique.

Lucy Pullen adopts a multi-faceted approach to her work that is marked with wit, curiosity and technical daring. She completed her MFA (2001) in sculpture at Temple University in Philadelphia, and is pursuing a PhD in media and communication with the European Graduate School in Switzerland. Pullen is an Assistant Professor at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.

Basé à Montréal, Kyle Beal est représenté par Galerie PUSH, ses œuvres ont fait l’objet d’expositions à travers le Canada, notamment au Glenbow Museum en Alberta ainsi qu’à la Contemporary Art Gallery de Vancouver. L’artiste vient de compléter une résidence au Vermont studio center et a déjà présenté une exposition individuelle à Galerie PUSH. Il a tout récemment présenté son installation smokn n public a comms breakdwn so 2 spk à Calgary et à Montéal. Kyle Beal détient une maîtrise en arts visuels de l’Université de Victoria.

Kyle Beal is a Montreal based artist represented by Galerie PUSH, his work has been featured in exhibitions throughout Canada, including the Glenbow Museum in Alberta and the Contemporary Art Gallery of Vancouver, as well as internationally. Recently, Beal completed a residency at the Vermont studio center, presented a solo exhibition at Galerie PUSH and exhibited his outdoor public installation piece smokn n public a comms breakdwn so 2 spk in Calgary and Montreal. Kyle Beal holds a master’s degree in visual art from the University of Victoria.
