Kari Percival a visiting artist from Boton, MA exhibiting her inspiring and environment conscience prints in a Montreal art-café.
« This year I have been making these animal prints, the series is called Spring Pact, and its about the difficult arrangement of the food chain, life, death, and birth. They are about how living things are in a sensitive situation and there is no such thing as a free lunch. They are about population patterns, and the joyful gift of being alive. They are about the need of eating, the sorrow and difficult bargain of being eaten, the ephemeral beauty of the seasons, of the expectation of new life. I have been making them, and as I make them, they allow me to better experience my own thoughts and feelings about life and living interrelationships.
The planet is in a state of peril, and working on these prints helps me feel more centered and focused, so that I can think more clearly about things, and act more presently. »
