Drawn & Quarterly bookstore is pleased to be showing the surrealist comic stylings of Anke Feuchtenberger. Hopefully, you'll be able to help us get the word out! Anke lives and teaches in Hamburg, Germany. She has created dozens of well-known comic albums such as La Putain P, and La Petite Dame, both of which (and more) were published by L'Association.
Her work combines Eastern European graphic styles with a sketchy, naïve, Western aesthetic. Thematically, she's concerned with sex, reproduction and alienation from the body. Anke's work has been shown in numerous art fairs and exhibitions the world over. We are very proud to host her work here at the bookstore!
The works on display are original silkscreen prints from her newest book, « Weh.Weh.Weh.Supertrane.de »
(that's not a website—that's the name of the book!)
