Three different artists from three different cities have joined forces to create The Birdwatchers of North America. Aya Kakeda (Tokyo/New York), Garrett Van Winkle (Winnipeg, MB) and Tyson Bodnarchuk (Montreal, QC) began mailing each other drawings to work on and inspire one another, and from that the Birdwatchers of North America collective was born. Last January they set aside a week to come together in Montreal as a sort of art “Boot Camp", concentrating on doing a large scale painting, working on a few new drawings and adding some finishing touches to previous works. The end results are piling up and the collective is ready to exhibit their works starting this Spring, continuing on through 2009-2010.
