"By drawing, I am 'drawn out' of illusion, out of the cerebral, and into a play of movement. Work becomes a vehicle for me to physically and mentally approach a personal history, which, when viewed by others, engenders a shared human meaning. My drawings study how our actions and, quite literally, our touch, define us".
Born in Denver, Colorado in 1974, Jason Botkin received his BFA with honours at the Alberta College of Art and Design. He now lives and works in Montreal.
